City in the network

As one of the four SINERGI partner cities, Lisbon engaged with municipal offices, the Faculty of Architecture, and civic organisations to exchange knowledge and good practices on social integration through urban growth.

Lisbon Thematic Seminar

The Lisbon Thematic Seminar took place from 14–16 April 2015, hosted in Lisbon, Portugal. The programme brought together partners from Skopje, Turin, Zagreb, and Lisbon to compare approaches to urban growth and social integration.

Activities during the seminar included visits to Paços do Concelho (City Hall) and to the Faculty of Architecture, giving delegates direct exposure to the city's administrative and academic context.

Welcome speeches were hosted by City Councilor Paula Marques, who received the visiting delegation on behalf of the municipality.

Lisbon stands as one of the key partner cities within the SINERGI twinned-city network, contributing to a collaborative effort focused on inclusive urban growth and social integration. As part of this international initiative, the city has engaged with municipal offices, academic institutions, and civic organisations to share knowledge and develop strategies that address the challenges of contemporary urban environments. The partnership reflects a commitment to fostering dialogue between diverse stakeholders, including city representatives, researchers, and local communities, in order to build more cohesive and resilient urban spaces.

Through hosting thematic seminars and participating in joint activities, Lisbon has played an active role in the exchange of practical experience and good practices among partner cities. The Lisbon Thematic Seminar brought together participants from across the network, including students, teachers, administrative representatives, and non-governmental organisations, to explore approaches to urban regeneration and social cohesion. These gatherings serve as platforms for co-learning and collaborative development, enabling cities to draw on shared insights and adapt successful models to their own local contexts.
