SINERGI Second Thematic Seminar - Day 1 (14.04.2015)

1.1.Welcome and Agenda of the meeting

Institutional reception and welcome speech made by Dr. Paula Marques that presented the principles for the housing and local development strategy in the City of Lisbon, the Local Housing Program, BIP/ZIP Priority Intervention Neighborhoods and zones, GABIP local support offices and also the Local Development Plans main goals.

A short introduction of attendants and their role within the city administration and institutions that they represent,pointed at the importance of the further development of international relations between Universities and partners in research and application of innovative technologies and approaches that could provide the better future of our cities and society.

After we had a lunch break with a stand up buffet at “ClubeDesportivo O Império” we walked in the Bairro 2 de Maio socialneighborhood.

2.1. Welcome and Agenda of the meeting

Theday 2 of the second thematic seminar started with an informal meeting with all the SINERGI partners, and thenProfessor João Cabral from Faculty of Architecture was the key note speaker about “New Urban Issues, new planning challenges” thematic.

 

This presentation was followed with a coffee break and a new working session about “New approaches for more just cities” moderated by Professor Alessandro Armando from Politechnico di Torino. Then it was possible to see the presentations of the following speakers on this topic;

d)     “Zagreb - city transformation: from infrastructural node to city central area - reconsidering big scale projects” presented by Ana Mrda Faculty of Architecture, University of Zagreb and Tihomir Jukic Faculty of Architecture, University of Zagreb.

e)     “Three projects for Skopje: Project No.2 Boulevard “ KrushevskaRepublika” that were presentd by Aleksandar Janakievski Department for Spatial Planning, Skopje and also AljoshaShopar Department for Spatial Planning, Skopje.

 

After we had a debate followed by a lunch break (stand up buffet) on Room Cargaleiro located inside of the Faculty of Architecture.

 

After the lunch Break, our work was resumed in the afternoon with the “Working Session 3”, moderated by professor Ognen Marinafrom the Faculty of Architecture, University Ss. Cyril and Methodius, Skopje with the following theme, “Urban Exclusion and New Collaborative Approaches”.

The working Session 4 was ended after a debate which was followed by a lunch break in room Cargaleiro. After lunch, working Session 5 went on for 2 hours and was composed by Presentations and Final conclusions by the Moderators.

 

3.3. Closing session and final conclusions of the meeting

- Prof. Alessandro Armando made the final conclusions of the three days of SINERGI Lisbon’s Second Thematic Seminar and emphasise the importance of the case studies that will be in focus of the forthcoming workshops in Turin and Skopje, the urban plan as a method of investigation and creation of alternative scenarios of socially inclusive and sustainable urban development followed with the use of digital tools for evaluation of the results.

- Prof. Ognen Marina had expressed on behalf of all participants and his gratitude to all the members of the Lisbon organization team and hosting institutions from Lisbon starting with the City of Lisbonand The Faculty of Architecture from University of Lisbon

- The chairman closed the Seminar Day 3 at 16.30
